HROC Burundi: University Students Brainstorm a National HROC Response Platform

by Elie Nahimana

Twenty-five university students representing all Burundi provinces met together at the IPB-HROC compound for a one-day HROC follow-up to brainstorm the way to build a national platform/network using the HROC program to respond to the trauma consequences that many Burundi live with.

These students wish to work hand-in-hand with IPB-HROC in this project. This idea responds to the need of having provincial focal points that take initiatives to which IPB-HROC then gives technical support. The students’ representatives and IPB-HROC agreed to begin this process by conducting several similar follow up meetings and evaluating the evolution of the process step by step.
